Fun Fact of the Day: Nickelodeon’s Hey Arnold! began its animated life as a series of claymation shorts — retroactively nicknamed “Clay Arnold!” — which were featured on early 90’s episodes of Sesame Street.
Bonus Fun Facts: Show creator Craig Bartlett is married to Lisa Bartlett (née Groening), sister of Simpsons creator Matt Groening and the eponymous inspiration for the character of Lisa Simpson. Matt Groening’s father, Homer, is responsible for recording the Ainsworth School band performance used as the score in the above Clay Arnold! short, “The Arnold Waltz.”

HELGA: You heard me, pal. I love you! LOVE YOU! Who else you think has been stalking you night and day, building shrines to you in a closet, filling volumes of books with poems about you? I love you, Arnold, I’ve always loved you, ever since I first laid eyes on your stupid football head!
